Department of Orthopedics
Orthopedic surgeons are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Some orthopedists are generalists, while others specialize in certain areas of the body, such as: Hip and knee. Foot and ankle.
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery provides expert treatment services for all aspects of musculoskeletal conditions including inpatient and outpatient surgical care, rehabilitation, and orthotics and prosthetics.
Department is lead by Prof. Dr. M. Jayakumar who has decades of Clinical and teaching experiences and is actively supporting the department to reach the highest level of excellence ce in both clinical services and teaching.
Skills
At the end of the course the student shall be able to:
- Identify and locate all the structures of the body and mark the topography of the living anatomy.

GOAL
The broad goal of teaching of undergraduate students in Anatomy aims at providing a comprehensive knowledge of the gross and microscopic structure and development of human body, which will serve as a basis for understanding the clinical correlation of organs or structures involved and the anatomical basis for the disease presentations.
Integration
- By integrated teaching with other Preclinical,Paraclinical and clinicalsubjects students shall be able to comprehend the regulation and integration of the functions of the organs and systems in the body and thus interpret the anatomical basis of disease process.

- Develop knowledge and clinical skills required for performing the role of competent and effective teacher, administrator, researcher and mentor.

Out Patient facilities includes well furnished , comfortable waiting area for patients. Reception team not only takes care of the patients till they receive the consultation but remain available for any requirements thereafter. There are Four examination rooms for patients and one demonstration room for students In addition there is separate plaster room and plaster cutting room.
