“Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology”

The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at PKDIMS provides high quality Medicolegal Education to the Graduating students training them in various fields such as Forensic Radiology, Anthropology, pathology, Histopathology, Serology and Toxicology. The Department is fully equipped with modern forensic scientific tools and Highly experienced Medico-legal experts.

The Department of forensic Medicine is also integrated with a state of the art Mortuary block, highly capable of handling Medicolegal postmortem examinations. The department aims at training the graduating students to well handle medicolegal cases in their day to day routine case encounters ranging from examining victims of trauma, sexual assaults, poisonings and certifying cause of death, sickness and fitness reports, injury reports, drunkenness , potency , age and dying declaration.

Currently the department of Forensic Medicine at PKDIMS is also aiming at starting Post graduation course, setting up clinical forensic medicine unit to handle medicolegal cases encountered in the emergency and trauma center PKDIMS in order to assist the legal procedures in a more sophisticated manner and to ensure proper administration of Justice.

Medical Rating for Anatomy

The medical rating is calculating based in the functionality and  individual branches performances, but mostly its review and feed backs are to be considered for getting better rating. The medical council will evaluate all the aspects of services and facilities to ensure the quality of education to students.

The Facilities

Demonstration Rooms

Two demonstration rooms, each of 60 sq. mts. accommodating 75 students each and equipped with appropriate audio visual aids, (1 OHP & 1 LCD projector) add to the teaching ambiance of the department.

Students Laboratory

Well equipped Student Laboratory provides facilities for examination of specimens, tests and Forensic histopathology, Serology, anthropology and toxicology.

Museum

Wide collection of well labelled medico-legal specimen charts, models, prototype fire arms, wax models, slides, poisons, photographs etc. with Multiple copies of catalogues available for student use.

Departmental Library

Departmental library-cum-seminar room with more than 80 copies of Forensic Text / reference Books.

Autopsy Block

Autopsy Block is situated inside the Campus in a separate building with facilities for cold storage, ante-rooms, washing facilities, waiting hall, office etc.

This facility is managed by the Dept. of Forensic medicine and shared with Department of Pathology.

Muldoone obtained his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University prior to attending St George's University School of Medicine.

Brian specializes in treating skin, hair, nail, and mucous membrane. He also address cosmetic issues, helping to revitalize the appearance of the skin and nails.

Andaloro graduated from medical school and completed 3 years residency program in pediatrics. She passed rigorous exams by the American Board of Pediatrics.
