PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences has constituted a committee known as the Anti – Ragging Committee, nominated and headed by the Head of the institution, and consisting representatives of faculty members, non teaching staff , representatives of civil and police administration, local media and Non-Government Organizations involved in youth activities. The committee will be further expanded, at the onset of the college to include students and parents.
PKDIMS follows the regulations defined by the Medical Council of India Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Medical Colleges/Institutions Regulations, 2009 as in
ANTI RAGGING SQUAD
- It shall be the duty of the Anti ragging squad to make surprise raids on hostels, and other places vulnerable to incidents of, and having the potential of, ragging and shall be empowered to inspect such places.
- The committee shall monitor the Anti Ragging activities in the institution, consider the recommendations of the Anti-Ragging Squad and take appropriate decisions, including spelling out suitable punishments to those found guilty.

In compliance of directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in the matter of ” University of Kerala Vs. Council, Principals’ Colleges, Kerala and Others in Civil Appeal No.887 of 2009. The P.K. Das institute of Medical Sciences has formed the following Anti-Ragging Committee and Squads for overseeing the implementation of the provisions of the verdict with immediate effect.

GUIDELINES FOR COMMITTEE
- The Squad shall have vigil, oversight, and patrolling functions. It shall be kept mobile, alert and active at all times, and shall be empowered to inspect places of potential ragging and make surprise raids on hostels and other hot spots. The Squad shall investigate incidents of ragging and make recommendations to the Anti-Ragging Committee and shall work under the overall guidance of the Anti - Ragging Committee. All matters of discipline within teaching institutions must be resolved within the campus, except those impinging on law and order or breach of peace or public tranquility; all of which should be dealt with under the penal laws of the land.
- The Committee composed as above shall meet at least once in a year to recommend preventive measures that can be adopted by the Institute to prohibit, prevent, and eliminate the menace of ragging in any form on the campus of the Institute.
- The Committee will prepare the Standard Operating Procedure to implement the Anti Ragging measures efficiently in the College. Fifty percentage of the members should be present in the meeting.
- The present Committee and Order supersedes the earlier Anti - Ragging Committee constituted vide office order No. PKDIMS/GEN/ORD/ESTT/2021-22-06 dated 04/02/2021.
