Library and Reading Rooms at Medical College
The Central Library of P K Das Institute of Medical Sciences has been developed into real centers of learning. The Central Library is Comfortable access to the Knowledge source with built up area of 2118 Sq.m. (Air-Conditioned) and Seating capacity of 480.
They contain a comprehensive collection of 12000 books in all branches of medical and allied subject and a good collection of CD-ROM/ DVD-ROM. It has Comfortable spacious Periodical Section, Digital Library Room, Technical Section, Reference Section and Reading Areas. In addition each department has separate libraries with adequate number of volumes and Computer facilities, with Internet are available at the Digital Library, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility is available to facilitate online search of the Library Books with Title, Author, Keywords and Subject.
All Books are Automated through Barcode Technology with using KOHA software, following AACR-2 Catalogue and DDC and NLM Classification. We also have National and International medical journals and leading national magazines for the access of our Students and Staffs . All across the Campus via Wifi Network.
Digital Library at Medical College
Digital Library of PKDIMS is developed to meet the most advanced information requirements of the academic community and is fully automated with software for easy and fast access. The library has a collection of more than 4800-odd books under different topics to meet the ever-growing demand of students and faculty in the field of health science. This library acts as a nodal Center for all digitalized information. Online library with links to all the leading libraries and universities in India and abroad is also available in our college.
STRUCTURE
- Ground floor: Ground floor houses Reception area, Reprographic section, Newspaper reading section, Periodical and Journal section.
- First floor: In the first floor Property cabin, Stack area, Reading Area-1,TV room, Librarian’s cabin, Digital library, Faculty Reading Room, Staff Room, old book and bound periodical sections are accommodated.
- Third floor: Reading area – II

Monday to Saturday – 8.00am to 8.00pm
Sunday – 9.00am to 2.00pm
