INSTITUTIONAL ETHICS COMMITTEE FOR HUMAN RESEARCH INTRODUCTION

PKDIMS, is committed to promote and foster research activities in the institution without any compromise on ethical perspectives and guidelines laid by ICMR. This involves a number of ethical issues which needs to be identified and addressed. The Institutional Ethics Committee for Human research of PKDIMS plays the vital role of guiding researchers in the ethical issues associated with their research.

FUNCTIONS

The major responsibility of ethics committee is to protect the rights, safety and well-being of the research participants. The Institutional Ethics Committee (Human Studies) conducts regular meetings for reviewing the research proposals and gives suggestions to the investigators to make their research ethical before approving them. All research projects in humans should get the approval of the ethics committee before starting their study.
